God will always pursue the lost sheep, He will leave the 99 for the one that’s lost. You will discover why God’s love is so reckless towards you.
How many times have you felt that God surely won’t accept you back when you have gone astray? I’ve personally felt like I was too broken to be fixed. Typically that feeling causes one to run and hide hoping that God won’t see what a mess you are.
This post will show you just how passionate the love of God is for you. My prayer is that you will not only know the love of God with your head, but that you would experience His love.
As you continue to read you will learn why God will leave the 99 for the one who goes astray. For a moment, become like a little kid and just receive His love for you while you read.
This post is all about God leaving the 99 to chase after the one.
Answers To Why He Would Leave The 99 For The One
Jesus Is The Good Shepherd
In Matthew 18 & Luke 15 we read about Jesus giving a parable of the lost sheep. A parable is simply a story to teach a spiritual or moral lesson. Before I continue with this post I want you to imagine a flock of sheep banding together to get herded. However, you see one running astray. All of a sudden a man who is in charge of herding the sheep begins to run after the one who leaves the flock. This man is a shepherd. He catches up to the sheep after a passionate pursuit. The shepherd catches up to the lost sheep, gently picks it up and carries it back to the rest of the flock. He then wipes the sweat from his forehead and is relieved and joyful his whole flock is together.
That good shepherd you was envisioning is Jesus and the flock of sheep was the believers. The little one who went astray was you. Sheep thrive in a flock of sheep, they are not meant to be alone. Other sheep keep them feeling safe and happy. Sheep also need the guidance and leadership of a good shepherd. We, as believers, are likened to sheep because just like the sheep we need the leadership of Jesus. We need one another to thrive. Also, notice when you was imagining the shepherd picking up the sheep to bring it back the shepherd didn’t scold the lost sheep. He gently carried the sheep back and was glad about it. Just because you went astray for a season for any given reason doesn’t mean Jesus has stopped pursuing you. He isn’t mad at you. He just wants you back!
“I’m No One Special”
Maybe you think that you’re no one special. Or maybe your thought is more inquisitive. How can the God who created the universe love me so much that he will leave everyone else just to come and get me. Romans 5:8 destroys the lie from the enemy that you are no one special. God found you so special that he allowed Jesus to be the ultimate sacrifice for your sin. If you were the only person left on the earth Christ would have still laid down His life for you with no questions asked. God does not keep a record of your wrongs. His love never gives up on you. His love for you endures FOREVER.
