From the moment you were formed in your mother’s womb purpose was calling. I will break down the infamous scripture many are called, but few are chosen.
How many times have you simply felt unqualified to walk out the purpose God has for you? Honestly speaking I felt that I wasn’t chosen to do the thing God has called me to do all because I failed God so many times. I’m sure you can relate with the feeling of not being enough simply because you sinned or made a mistake.
This post will make it clear to you that your mistakes do not disqualify you from your purpose. My prayer is that you would become aware of how methodical our Father is.
As you continue to read your understanding will be enlightened to the truth of why God has chosen you to pursue purpose. By the end of this you will have discovered why purpose is your portion!
This post is all about your God given purpose.
Pregnant With Purpose
Purpose Was Inside Of You Before You Were Born
Jesus said in Matthew 22:14 that many are called, but few are chosen. If Jesus meant that only a select few were chosen by God then that would completely wipe out the scripture in Jeremiah 1:5 where God makes it clear that He knew us before He formed us in our mother’s womb. God also makes it clear in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has good plans for us to give us a future. Sometimes people will go around bragging and saying that they’re chosen and it’s to make others feel less than and to cause them to be on a higher level than others. The root of that is pride and rejection. The fact is we are all chosen to do something special in our lives that brings God glory.
The only difference between the called and the chosen is who decided to answer the call
God knows your whole story before you can even finish it. He has taken into account EVERY mistake you’ll ever make. He’s seen your sin before you even committed it. He’s watched you miss the mark too when following His will for your life. However, he’s watched you be successful and obedient before you even wanted to. He knows you better than you know yourself. Nothing can catch God by surprise. Patience and grace flows out of Him. He’s all knowing yet He still chose you. You were created on purpose for a purpose. By the authority I have in Jesus, I break off of you condemnation and I command purpose to come forth in your life now.
My Run In With Purpose
Sis, don’t think I’m just sitting here telling you things I didn’t have to learn myself. If you’re reading this and you are saying to yourself “Well I know I’m chosen. I know my purpose, she not talking to me.” Don’t be so quick to check out from this blog post just yet. I’ve been the girl who struggled with believing God actually had a plan and purpose for me. I’ve also been the girl who said okay daddy God I yield to your purpose for me but then I gave Him fifty million reasons why I couldn’t or shouldn’t walk in it.
For years I’ve heard God tell me how he wants to use me and I haven’t been obedient in doing what He’s asked me to until now. I knew that my pain had purpose and that I would one day encourage other women and help them to heal from trauma. God was calling me to social media. What did I do…I ran of course lol. Some of my excuses was my hair isn’t done, I don’t know how to edit, people won’t want to hear what I have to say. I can see how silly they were now. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what other people will think that we tend to ignore what God has said about us,
Only God’s Approval Matters
Whatever He has called you to do, He has also equipped you for. I am very introverted but my purpose is so much greater than my shyness and insecurities. This blog is an act of my obedience to God and the call on my life. To be honest I’m learning social media all over again. I haven’t really been on social media like that since 2015, so that gives you an idea of how scary and challenging this was for me. When purpose is calling you can’t escape it. When you aren’t walking in purpose there will be an unfulfilled feeling with life and when you see others doing something similar to what God has asked you to do you will be reminded of what He’s asking of you.
There is so much joy in your purpose. Let me encourage you.. Within 15 days of being obedient to God and posting on Instagram using my platform to glorify Him I was able to reach thirty thousand people!! This is coming from a girl who doesn’t know how to do makeup, doesn’t quite understand social media and who in the world’s eyes would appear unqualified. To many 30,000 people isn’t a lot, but to me it was confirmation. It was as if God kissed me on my forehead and said go baby go! I was right where He wanted me. I thought my voice didn’t matter but when God has said yes no one can say no! God showed me His faithfulness and He wants to do the same for you. I shared this story to show you with God anything is possible. Our purpose is for His glory!
How Do I Figure Out My Purpose & Walk In It?
Your purpose is God’s gift to you. How you carry that purpose out is your gift back to God. The first and most important step to figuring out your purpose is to have those conversations with Abba. He knows what He wants you to do. He has all of your assignments put together. He’s infinite in wisdom and strategic in His plans. The next step I would say is to look at your life and see what you are passionate about and ask God if it’s included in your purpose. Often times what you are passionate about are clues to what your purpose is. Ask God to confirm what He’s shared with you. When you are pretty certain on the reason you was put on this earth, start aligning with that. Look at your life, your job/career, and your relationships and ask God to align your life with His purpose.
We can overcomplicate things when God is actually making it pretty simple. When we stay connected to Him through prayer, worship and reading our word it’s pretty hard to miss Him. When we are connected to the vine we stay in step with Him. As He shifts so do we.
