This post is all about 5 I am statements for the stay at home mom.
5 I am Statements:
1. I am abiding in Christ (John 15:5)
You are in Christ and He is in you. That means there is nothing that you can’t do. Being a stay at home mom comes with a lot. It’s a job for which you don’t get paid for. However. just because you are not paid doesn’t mean what you do isn’t just as important as someone who works a 9-5. Though people will try to minimize what it is that you do, God recognizes you and He affirms you.
2. I am capable (Philippians 4:13)
God trusts you to be a mom. For this reason He has made sure to equip you to be that child’s mother. You are capable for the task at hand. Undoubtedly, people will have something to say about how you parent especially when you choose to do it God’s way. However, peoples negative opinions and criticism does not mean you are not capable of raising your child the way God has called you to. The Holy Spirit will show you how to parent and He will lead you to the right resources to help. Remember you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you including being a mom!
3. I am who my kids need (Proverbs 1:8-9)
What you teach your children matters. God didn’t give you the wrong children. He specifically chose you to be their mom because you have exactly what they need. Your teachings will crown them with grace.
4. I am valuable (Matthew 10:29-31)
Though being a mom is a honorable thing to do, your worth is not wrapped up in what you do. Your value lies in who you are. You are a daughter of the King. There is no duty that you can do to make yourself more valuable. You are priceless because of who you are in Christ.
5. I am loved (1 John 4:16)
There will be days that you may feel as if you can’t take another day. Your kids may challenge the peace you have but you must remember that God loves you. The enemy may try to make you believe God doesn’t love you or care about you or that He gave you too hard of a job. However, God is for you. He loves you so much that He won’t allow you to butcher being a mom. You are not expected to be the perfect mom. You are just expected to trust God and lean on Him to help you parent. Sometimes you will fall short in being a mom, but remember God is for you. He’s a prayer away when you need Him.
