There’s a dangerous trap a lot of content creators fall into without even realizing it—we start bowing to the algorithm. We start creating to please systems and platforms instead of creating to glorify God. But let me remind you: the algorithm is not your God.
If you are a Christian content creator, you have to check your heart. Why are you putting this out? Is it because you want to go viral or because you want to please God? Are you posting because you’re chasing numbers, or are you pouring because God filled you up with something that someone needs?
There will be times God gives you something to release that isn’t popular. It might not trend. It might not go viral. But it is necessary. It is for the hearts He has called you to. Your obedience is more important than your reach.
My Google Adsense Story
When I got that email saying Google Adsense didn’t approve my blog, my heart sank.
I felt some type of way. I was crushed. I had to fight the urge to “crash out” emotionally and reject the lie that what God placed in me wasn’t enough. I thought for sure my blog would be approved. I had done all the natural steps—policies in place, privacy notice, everything. My strategy was simple: prayer and obedience.
However, when that “not approved” hit my inbox, it stung. I had a moment where I questioned, “Is all of this even worth it?”
Then I remembered, my blog is His before it is mine.
Why I Still Chose to Pour
A system doesn’t get to decide what’s anointed and what’s not.
I had to remind myself that who God calls, He equips. He qualifies. He confirms. No rejection from a platform can override the yes of Heaven.
I pour because He poured into me. I pour because He called me to this space for such a time as this. And when God gives an assignment, you don’t just put it down because a temporary obstacle shows up.
This blog is ministry. It’s not about clicks. It’s not about viral moments. It’s about obedience and impact.
Influencing God’s Way vs. Chasing Metrics
Influencing God’s way is different. It means God is at the center of everything I post.
Before I write a blog, before I make any content, I consult with the Holy Spirit. It means my lifestyle and my words carry integrity. It means I’m not hopping on every trend because it “performs well” if God didn’t give me the green light.
Influencing His way is about seeking His approval, not man’s approval. It’s about living out Galatians 1:10—asking myself, “Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?”
And the truth is, if you belong to Him, the algorithm doesn’t own you.
God Can Influence the Algorithm
I didn’t have some big supernatural sign that flipped my disappointment into hope. I just remembered this: obedience always opens the door to God’s favor.
If I stay faithful to pour out what He gives me, God will cause the right eyes to land on my content. He can touch the algorithm if He wants to. He can bring increase without me striving, manipulating, or compromising.
My job is to obey. His job is to bring the fruit.
Fruit Doesn’t Always Look Like Numbers
The world measures influence in likes, shares, and followers. Heaven measures influence in souls, healing, and obedience.
I’ve had women message me saying my blog felt like I was speaking directly to them. Others told me they walked away encouraged and filled with hope. That’s the real fruit.
I didn’t need clickbait. I didn’t need to bend my values. I just poured what God gave me and let Him do the rest.
My Big Sis Encouragement to You
Sis, either God is true or the algorithm is.
You can’t serve both. Either you trust God with what He put in you, or you let the algorithm define your worth. Your testimony, your story, your voice—it’s unique. Don’t bury it because the numbers aren’t where you want them to be.
Pour when no one is liking it. Pour when no one engages. Pour because God filled you to overflow. Pour because you are His servant first.
God will watch over what He planted in you. And when you do it as unto the Lord, He will reward you in ways that a platform never could.
Practical Wisdom for the Journey
Here’s what I’ve learned that might help you too:
- Consult God about every idea. He’s the ultimate Creative.
- Pause before you post. Ask if this is for God’s glory or your own validation.
- Be faithful with the little. If you’re consistent with the small audience, He can trust you with more.
- Detach your worth from productivity. Your value is in Christ, not your output.
A Heart Check Before You Log Out
Before you hit publish on your next blog, video, or post, take a moment:
- Spiritually: Check your motives. Is this to glorify God or yourself?
- Mentally: Take off the disappointment. Numbers don’t define your calling.
- Practically: Choose to be led by the Holy Spirit over trends and metrics.
The algorithm didn’t call you. God did.
And if He called you, He will equip you, sustain you, and in His timing, He can even make the algorithm bow to His plan for your life.
Keep pouring. Heaven is watching, even when the world scrolls past.
